See the picture gallery below for reference. We provide this information because we want hunters to make an informed decision when considering applying for the Durst Mountain CWMU bull elk hunt. There is potential to harvest larger elk, but we want to be upfront and transparent on the averages. That said, our average bull elk have been around 300 B&C (most bulls range in score from 270-320 B&C). We want hunters to be happy with the elk hunt on the property. You can have multiple guests throughout your hunt (i.e., different guests on different days), but only one guest is allowed with the hunter on the ranch. Guest must stay with the hunter at all times. One guest per hunter/permit holder is allowed on the ranch. Lodging/food/guide service/packing service are not available. The hunt ends after the evening hunt on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Hunters should plan to arrive early morning on Sunday, October 8, 2023. These are the only dates available for the bull elk hunt Hunt Dates: Sunday, OctoThursday, October 12, 2023. Ranch Access: access to the ranch will be coordinated with the operator before your hunt Please do not inquire about private tags, landowner tags, trespass fees, etc. ![]() The Durst Mountain CWMU does not have private tags to sell to residents or non-residents.
